Shannon Kearney

Shannon grew up in the Twin Cities and discovered she had a passion for environmental education while attending high school at the Minnesota Zoo. She is currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, majoring in Environmental Education and Interpretation with minors in Wildlife, Environmental Ethics, and Environmental Studies. Shannon also serves as Vice President of the UWSP Environmental Educators and Naturalists Association. 

Throughout the year, she works in Outreach and Communications for Minnesota's Scientific and Natural Areas program. When she's not studying or working, Shannon loves staying active outside, by bird watching, Nordic skiing, and backpacking. She is also a pole vaulter on the UWSP Track and Field team. She is very excited to be a part of the WAEE board this year!
