Angela was born and raised in Sheboygan making her heart belong to the state of Wisconsin (trust me, she has left a few times, but always comes back)! Angela did not grow up in an outdoors family, however, she attending a few weeks of an outdoor summer camp each year. Those few weeks determined her path to work in Environmental Education. At 15 she starting working at Camp Y-Koda and then eventually was the Summer Camp Director. That experience quickly led her to feel unfulfilled using her UW-Madison Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education while teaching in the middle school math classroom. She then returned to UW-Madison for a degree in Environmental Conservation, which allowed her marry her passion for the environment to her teaching degree. Since then she has worked in multiple informal and formal education settings. Her favorite job experience was as an Overnight Education Instructor at the Cincinnati Zoo where she was able to sleep next to the manatee tank on a regular basis.
Angela currently works for Lussier Family Heritage Center, part of Dane County’s Land and Water Resources Department and Dane County Parks, as their Education Coordinator.
