View Mission, Vision, History of the WAEE Consortium
Initially funded through an EE Capacity Grant (Cornell University & NAAEE), the WAEE Consortium is now being maintained as a working group of WAEE. It is made up of a diverse representation of “traditional”, i.e. nature centers and “non-traditional” EE organizations, i.e. community groups throughout the state. The purpose of the consortium is to identify and pursue initiatives that will build the capacity of EE in Wisconsin.
During 2013-2015, three initiatives were identified by the working group:
- Exploring EE as a statewide industry
- Engaging EE Allies that share a common goal
- Strengthening EE messaging statewide
From these initiatives, successful results were created to address these needs:
- State-wide Status & Needs Survey
- Regional Networking Events
- Increase Online Presence through EEinWI.org
During 2015-2016 the group built on the strong momentum to expand capacity during 2013-2015, and re-envisioning the WAEE Consortium by creating a comprehensive and representative social and economic picture of EE in Wisconsin.
3 Initiatives were identified for 2015-16
- Marketing & Message
- Professional Development & Networking
- Diversity & Inclusion
From these initiatives, successful results were created to address these needs:
- EE Impact Video
- 2016 Status and Needs Survey
- Regional Networking Meetings
